Rick Stertz is one of three founding partners of Classic Car Spa, an Arizona regional chain of luxury car washes, service facilities and fueling centers located in Tucson, Tempe, Gilbert, Goodyear, Mesa and Scottsdale. Classic Car Spas wash, detail and service over a million cars per year .

 

Rick grew up in a small town in Northern Wisconsin, the son of a graphic designer and spent 4 years of college at the Institute of Technology at the University of Minnesota in the Undergraduate Architecture program. His career includes designing a variety of commercial buildings, custom homes, furniture and restaurants including "Barcelona" in North Scottsdale.  He has also designed everything for Classic Car Spa including the concept, the site and buildings as well as the logo.

 

Rick is proud to have co-created and developed The Wilds, a 41 unit  mountain side luxury residential development in Basalt, Colorado. Located 12 miles down valley from Aspen, The Wilds is nestled among the pines on the mountainside overlooking downtown Basalt.

 

As Vice President of The Durrant Architecture Group, Rick and Durrant CEO Norm Wirkler developed a very unique public/private project with The Town of Snowmass Village. The Crossings at Horse Ranch is a 35 unit single family employee housing subdivision that has become the model for employee housing projects that make the town’s livability as its main priority.

 

Over his 26 year career, Rick has developed over $ 250M of commercial and residential real estate in Arizona and Colorado.

Tim Stocker began his journey into the car wash industry as the Chief Operating Officer of Danny’s Family Companies.  Over his eight year tenure, Tim controlled the growth and operational management of the company’s entities including 8 full service car washes, 2 gourmet markets, 2 fine dining restaurants, as well as the overall fiscal management of Danny’s.  Mr. Stocker’s responsibilities also included contract negotiation, new location financing, cash management, vendor relations and implementing company policy and procedures to enhance the overall profitability of the company.

Previously, he served as the Chief Financial Officer of SC & T International Inc., a publicly traded NASDAQ company.  Mr. Stocker was responsible for facilitating and coordinating the audit processes required under SEC rules for bringing a private company public.  He was responsible for the overall financial reporting, as well as the day-to-day operations.  He also established distribution offices in Belgium and England and served as a Director of SC & T Europe N.V., a European subsidiary located in Antwerp, Belgium. 

From 1988 to 1995 Mr. Stocker served as Vice President and Controller of Evans-Withycombe Residential Inc., a $500 million publicly traded REIT and was responsible for the SEC financial reporting.  He was also responsible for overseeing 25 accounting professionals

Mr. Stocker is a graduate of the University of Arizona with a degree in Business Administration and Accounting. He is also an active member of the Arizona Business Leadership Association.

James R. Barrons has approximately 30 years of diversified financial management experience. Since 1985, Mr. Barrons has directed his own financial management and investment advisory firm, providing services to high net worth individuals and professional athletes.

An entrepreneur, Mr. Barrons also owns the majority interest in an outdoor billboard manufacturing company, an outdoor advertising company, and a diversified investment company. Mr. Barrons, together with his partners, has developed a number of hotel properties in Southern California and currently holds an ownership position in several residential communities, office buildings and has built several custom homes for resale in his developments. An active investor in land throughout Arizona, Mr. Barrons has participated in the entitlement and planning process of numerous residential, commercial, and mixed use developments throughout the community.

After graduating from the University of Michigan-Dearborn, Mr. Barrons went on to become a certified public accountant while working for the international accounting firm of Touche Ross and Company. Mr. Barrons then went into corporate management as the Vice President of Columbia Pictures Communications that eventually was acquired by Coca Cola Company. Before establishing his firm, Mr. Barrons worked with a well-diversified investment company with interest in real estate and media properties.
